The Web Site Guide to 'HoBB Virtual'

YOU ARE HERE = (www.thehobb.tv/postings/000156.php)

Everything here online is numbered - each blog has a number e.g. 000197.php

You can navigate in two ways around this site:

1) The way to ensure you see everything here online is to start at the first published posting https://thehobb.tv/postings/000002.php and change the number in your browser to 000003.php then 000004.php and so on.

2) Everything is also in 'subject folders'. Click on the subject that interests you then browse forward >. All subject folders appear 'top right' of every page and a summary of each folder's subject appears here:

We Draw
Every day we draw cartoons, buildings, illustrations Web Graphics and design ideas. In this folder you can get to know our art skills and interact with our design process as we always welcome suggestions and are keen to help loads of projects get off the ground.

We Write
Yeah hey! Never have guessed it would you! Hmmmm, some say we write too much! This section is for the occasional book we publish for friends under the imprint of "Little People Books" and I may risk posting some of my own risquι or nonsense poems. We write performance stories for professional storytellers and hold writer weekends in winter. If you write yourself, pop in to look at our evolving thoughts and works.

We Produce… more than a good cup of tea at a HoBB Real Garden 'open Day' – we produce 'results'. In this section we hope you will discover ideas fit for mass production. Visit these postings if you are on the look out for new product ideas and if you spot a prototype we've produced that you like, then get in touch with us and let's work out the costs and profits beyond our initial thinking.

Designs
There's not much that we have not designed but we're up for a challenge if you have got a good one. Click on this section to explore the practical side and see how we help ideas reach production. When we design a brochure, building, interior, garden or pair of shoes, we 'problem solve' and if you have an exciting mind that always sees solutions, you should think about getting into design because the World needs your skills.

Projects and Ideas
Pick up a project and run with us! Ever fancied being a Director of your own company and taking no risks to get big gains – forget it – it doesn't work like that. We all take risks but the risks can be lowered with good research and sound business thinking. Sift wisely through the projects and ideas we post here because with your eyes and your input, one of them might make it to the top. We spend a hunk of our time creating ideas and supporting the projects of many but some approach us hungry for a fresh business challenge. Be hungry but look with enthusiastic caution.

Personal Development
From down on all fours, to up onto twos and into flight, most of us have "drive", that wonderful thing that keeps us 'keeping on'. Without it, they say, we'd all be still sitting around in caves. 'Drive' needs fuel and for a lot of HoBB Friends, we are a 'spirit filling station' – scrumptious good spirits (and fine fayre) abound at harvest times. When the 'spirit moves' people progress but if you are not progressing as you desire, your spirit may need topping up. We post things here that we discover and think may help. A friend of ours does some work on site at 'HoBB Real' on 'spirit levelling' through Qi Gong Meditation and is ever-learning, practical thus hands-on. Read all about it.

Personal Comments
Here, all personal comments are meant to be confined but you'll notice they spill out of this section into other postings. As each Blog here at 'HoBB Virtual' is signed, you'll always know who to get back to with your own personal comments. There's no ranting here, just some 'Granting' at times, but if you have a personal comment you would like to see included on this Site, this is the section for it!

Please send postings to us marked 'Guest Comment' and if we love it we'll publish it here with a credit to you, our Guest Author.

If we love it a lot, we'll also make you a " Friend of the HoBB" and enter your name in a draw to win a free weekend at 'HoBB Real'.

Interests
Run an 'interest check' across us and you'll find we like all the regular stuff like 'good food', 'great friends' and 'travelling to new places' along with some less guessable interests. When you go to this folder, each blog posted is signed by the author so that you will know who to contact to share your views or find out more.

I recently filled in a profile about us where we were asked to write our 'interests' using a maximum of 100 words with a space or comma between each and not sentences. As you may be interested to know what subjects might occur in this folder, I've pasted the words below as a guide :

Stone, Wood, Global Friendships, Architecture, Space Exploration, Riding, Water, Animation, Earth Design, Aquaculture, Perspectives, Pasta Shapes, Low Tides, GuanXi, Home Grown, Books, Foraging, Gardens, Lifestyles, Growth, Fruit, Meditation, Sea life, Enthusiasm, Spring, Re-Cycling, Missing links, Being There, Restaurants, Rivers, Passions, Tree Circus, Landscapes, Hand Made Paper, Hedera, Sex Humour, Rara Avis, Textures, Plants, Learning, Web, Ideas, Packaging Graphics, Art, Some Cars, Auctions, Beachcombing, Spirit Levelling, Theatre, Spiritual Journeys, Music, Science, Thinking beyond the Box, Autumn, Shaman, Poetry, Illustration, Colours, Good Quality Closure …

Journeys
Each day another journey. Although included in this folder are all manner of blogs about people and places, some postings are bound to appear concerning deeper, more meaningful journeys, experienced by the mind and 'felt' by the spirit. As an example, it would not be enough to say that physically, I visited an orphanage, without recounting the long distance leap of emotion that my mind experienced in so doing. All journeys encompass things learned or perceived along the way and if this 'HoBB Virtual' site can impart just one tenth of the feelings experienced by its contributors, it has accomplished more than we could hope.

Shopping
It's rare for me to get ecstatic over a 'shopping trip', especially to a UK supermarket chain. One link in the chain is like the next, and the goods for sale blanket my mind with their multicoloured rashes of sales jargon. Their premises are designed on the premise that they look like a 'market' on entry but they look like no market I have ever had the pleasure to shop in. As you might have concluded by now, not many blogs are going to posted to this folder on the subject of UK Superfluous 'markets'.

If your foraging for fodder and goodies takes you to memorable shops that create a fun experience, then shopping will be a joy for you. If we come across shops that enjoy having customers rather than just wallets and purses, we'll post up their details in this folder. If you run a shop that should be praised by us because you make your work 'personal', let us know and we'll come and do an article about you and support your lead where we can.

Identities
We are very HoBBian at the HoBB; we might use words in a Pickwickian way; Some of our cartoon characters can be Dickensian; Our language can be a tadge Shakespearean on midsummer mornings; Our slips Freudian maybe? - well if our words do reveal our unconscious thoughts then so much the better, for it will save us doing a blog on them!

We set up this 'identities' folder in praise of strong 'ids' everywhere. Here, we shamelessly combine blogs on the id we all have and the ID that companies try to imbibe as they read and re-read their glossy corporate ID discipline manuals. Don't pick on us for this overlap until you have read everything we have to blog on the subject. Somewhere in the middle, the two or more topics will meet and it will be a literary romp whilst we struggle to convolve the subjects. Click and enjoy the lot of it, for here in this folder you will get to know many identities over time like 'Sleepy and the Samurai'; Gina; 'Bill and Bertha Bamford at the Bar' and maybe more about your own id. Click-on !

FAQ's
I knew a Mrs Faqhuar once for those of you who were just about to ask me whether I did. I think too many sites use FAQ's to try and short circuit getting involved with supplying direct answers. Visitors usually end up scrolling down lists of answers that never completely satisfy, just to find that at the end of the page, there is no email contact with the site writers, forcing them to sit on their question till it fades through lack of light and fresh air.

We prefer to answer all questions directly and not leave a list of bogus questions and answers on this site that give the idea that loads of people have indicated any interest in what we are doing, let alone with any frequency. Thankfully, as few get to grips with everything we do here, not many questions are formulated for us. Naturally if you have a specific question we will be delighted to answer it if we can. If you think of anything that should be answered for the benefit of all visitors, do let us know.

Gallery
Most site statistics show that "gallery" and "photos" buttons get a lot of clicks so it's a 'must have' on any site including this one. Give it time and this Gallery folder will fill out with some great shots.

As I always flick through books, web pages and magazines to look at the pictures first, there's an accompanying picture with most of the blogs posted on this site, just to make me happy. Our 'Gallery' will be for pictures that need no words or leave us speechless.

Where are they now?
As more sites like 'friends reunited' promote friends to stay united, it makes me wonder about some of the great people we have all known that have lost touch with us. With a mix of curiosity and concern, I have set up this folder to see if it acts as a beacon to information as to the whereabouts of contacts, friends, news on cool projects and many things I liked that don't seem to be around any more.

We'll see how this folder grows – it will probably show how the world changes and how circumstances dictate what and who you know.

Voluntary Support
We are always seeking new community volunteers to help us with the myriad of tasks at 'HoBB Project House and Gardens'. These opportunities are varied and can include :

Administrative Volunteer
Special Projects Volunteer
Gardening Volunteers, who work directly with us on planting and maintain the garden displays all the while learning more about gardening
Construction Volunteer
Speakers Bureau – speakers available to any organization wishing a presentation to learn more about our gardens and current activities.
Illustration Volunteer
Book Writing Volunteer
Webmaster Volunteer
Design Volunteer
and more …

Most of the time, volunteers book well in advance and come to us through organisations like wwoof.org but these are usually foreign students touring the world so are with us at 'HoBB Real' for a brief 'stop over'. Whether you are an avid volunteer or novice, you will be looking for new skills, new experiences and new understandings so the 'HoBB Gardens and Project House' simply creates these opportunities with you.

If you like to: dig in the dirt, plant, write, level the spirit, paint, move the earth, weed, build, change the world, mulch, illustrate, trim, design or maybe you just want to learn more about life, we will keep you active and lively here ... no experience or relevant knowledge is needed!

It is only through the valiant efforts of our wonderful volunteers that 'HoBB Real' can continue to provide an outstanding environment where the thoughts and actions of our friends can grow.

What do you need to bring? Just your enthusiasm and maybe Wellington boots and gloves might come in useful.

Journey and 'make a difference' with those who like to 'make waves'; The HoBB Gardens and Project House welcomes Volunteers > get in touch with us.

Any omissions or misinterpretations that may have occurred are purely accidental. BookBod has chosen to learn the English language by referring to pre-invasion forms and every English Language text ever produced including those of Celtic and Anglo-Frisian origin no longer in existence. BookBod had a great time with Chaucer and Wyclif but possibly lingered too long with C.L.Dodgson and Edward Lear!
