UPDATE: Elf's gone into hiding.

Well there's no update on this one and after so long, I think it is unlikely that the project continued after the first five books forming the "Red Series". The rest of the rainbow looks like it has faded into history and this might be, in part, due to the frequent re-writes of the UK's National Curriculum.

The little books were very popular with parents and everyone loved the characters and illustrations, especially Elf himself.

The characters however remained active and following their first book appearance, went on to star in further books and according to a tweet I read last month, there may be a film appearance for Elf on the horizon in 2016.

If this happens, you'll be the first to know about it if you are watching the front page of YouTube. Let me know if you see Elf's debut first and sent me a link.

Earlier update (below) posted by Grant on 2010-09-09 22:56:28:

The English Literacy Foundation are planning a downloadable series based on their popular decodeable books. The downloads will be available on subscription and will probably be accompanied by colour-in sheets. I will post more information on this blog, along with any links as soon as we get more news.
