7 Education Crew

Educational Mascot Up-date

Effie the Elephant had been used by
Severn Trent Water for many years as a teaching aid, but was failing to capture the evolving imagination of children.

IOL's work for the Education section at Severn Trent Water included designing and drawing up new characters who would be

adaptable and thus support the teaching of every aspect of water treatment and supply in the years ahead.

8 Robin-Hood's Computers

Creative workshop ideas using computers

Pupils at Robin Hood School had been using the default and ready-made filter settings in their imaging software rather than planning their own creative requirements beforehand.

IOL designed and led workshops to expand the natural creativity of the pupils and to help them follow this through into their computer work. For those interested in seeing how the pupils at Robin Hood School have progressed with their digital work, try their web site.

9 Fat Man Jim (Gym)

First in a series challenging prejudice.

There are many prejudices, old and new. The British Film Institute and Channel 4 were eager to fund new

animation works to make people rethink their conditioning.

The story of 'Fat Man Jim' is a heavyweight tale adapted for television.

When using animation shorts, your quality message reaches your audience effectively as it entertains and educates 'in one go'. We have plenty of ideas and are eager to work on animation covering phobias, racism, sexism and ageism. If you have funds available to tackle these problems we would like to talk with you and develop your ideas.

Contact us - we're animated.
