Ring in the New

To the days ahead as they wend and spread
To actions done not counted
To those in need, not those of greed
To goals and dreams surmounted.
To the merry ones who in their wishes
Place within their notes
A wizard’s wish of better years
Full brimming them with hopes.

Ring out the Old

 

Ring out the old, ring in the new
Ring out the false, ring in the true
Cast off the clouds and see the view
Welcome the smiles and love the blue.
Open the hearts, let truth be told
Warm up the souls who feel they’re cold
Dance with your youth, forever bold
Treasure the soil and not the gold.
Build on the joys within you hold
Ring in the new, ring out the old.

There’s always potential untapped.
Sometimes the original lyric writer (George Harrison) sees it, and at other times, it’s left to future history to pick up the lead and follow on.
In memory of all who have evolved ‘language’ and allowed us greater ease in expressing ‘thought’. It may still not be easy to say everything one thinks but it’s a whole lot easier to have a go.
