With plenty of horse manure from Karen’s horses and not enough roses in her garden to feed, she decided to create her own purpose-built worm hatchery with raised grow-on beds.
Together, we visited both captive and free-range worm farms to get some tips and whilst Karen and her family organised the construction, I got on with the packaging design and poster.
The worms have been kept very busy and are now available for gardeners, keen kitchen composters, school biology teachers, aquaponic farmers, researchers, environmental clean-ups and soil re-conditioning.
… and so the story grows.
